Triglycerides

The Triglycerides Test is a type of blood test that measures the levels of triglycerides in the blood. Triglycerides are a type of fat that the body uses for energy, but high levels of triglycerides in the blood can increase the risk of heart disease and other health problems.
During the Triglycerides Test, a healthcare professional will draw blood from a vein in your arm and send the sample to a laboratory for analysis. You may be asked to fast for 8-12 hours before the test to ensure accurate results.
The Triglycerides Test is often performed as part of a lipid profile test, which also measures levels of cholesterol and other types of fats in the blood. Together, these tests can provide a comprehensive picture of a person's heart health and risk for cardiovascular disease.
Normal triglyceride levels vary depending on age, sex, and other factors, but in general, levels below 150 mg/dL are considered normal. Elevated levels of triglycerides may be caused by a number of factors, including obesity, diabetes, and a diet high in saturated fats and sugars.
If your Triglycerides Test results indicate elevated levels, your healthcare provider may recommend lifestyle changes, such as dietary modifications and exercise, or medication to lower your triglyceride levels and reduce your risk of heart disease.
At MOHO, we partner with NPHL-approved path labs to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of Triglycerides Test results. We also provide free sample collection at home for your convenience, as well as free consultation with doctors to help you understand your test results.
