12 Foods which are pulling down your sexual drive

Has your sexual appetite been low than usual? It is possible that your diet is toning down your sexual drive. A range of foods have been found to cause such an effect, especially as you age. Check out these 12 food items slashing your sex drive!

  • Cheese

The cow's milk used for cheese is mostly inclusive of certain antibiotics and other growth hormones. If you over consume these products, then they can interfere with the natural cycle of your hormones. Sexual dysfunction could be caused by the storing up of xenoestrogens, which are 'bad' estrogens gathered from your diet and surroundings.

  • Aerated Drinks

If you consume high amount of sugar-sweetened beverages, then you are at a higher chance of catching diabetes. Other negative impacts of drinking these beverages are obesity, dental cavities, bone loss, diabetes, and dehydration. These effects can indirectly result in poor libido levels.

  • Artificial Sweeteners

Aspartame is an ingredient in artificial sweeteners which reduces hormone serotonin and lead to depression, headaches, insomnia, irritability, and anxiety attacks. Serotonin is the hormone which makes us happy and if there is lack of it, then there will be instability in your mood and libido. If you are using any artificial sweeteners, then shift to natural sweeteners like honey and jaggery.

  • Canned Food

Low blood supply to your sexual organs is induced by the consumption of foods high in sodium and low in potassium. This is characteristic of canned foods which are full of substandard ingredients, sodium, and artificial additives. Since adequate blood does not reach your sexual organs, they can fail to perform appropriately during sexual intercourse.

  • Chips

One of the most forgotten features of the chips packet is the high temperature at which the chips are prepared in rancid oils. A mix of bad fats and extremely high temperature can result in damage to the cells of your bodies. This can impede your sexual drive.

  • Coffee

The adrenal glands get negatively affected due to the frequent consumption of caffeinated drinks. These can result in low functioning of the glands and ultimately dysfunctioning of your sexual organs.

  • Oils

Consumption of high-quality and well-processed oil is critical for women who are trying to conceive. If you consume oils which are not prepared well and are not of good quality, then your reproductive system could be affected negatively, leading to difficulty in conceiving and lack of sexual libido.

  • Excess of Legumes

While it is good to have small quantity of soya in your diet, your testosterone levels will deplete drastically if you eat legumes frequently. These include sauce, soymilk, and tofu.

  • Graham Crackers

The man who created these crackers, Dr. Sylvester Graham, made them with the belief that it will bring down your carnal desires. Though this has never been scientifically proven, it is well-known that any food which has refined carbohydrates can cause havoc in your reproductive system.

  • Alcohol

If you are a frequent drinker, then you can expect a range of sexual problems including low libido, premature ejaculation, and erectile dysfunction. Make sure you only have two to three drinks, so that you can have amazing sex later.

  • Microwavable Popcorn

Did you know that the microwavable bag containing the popcorn contains perfluoroalkyl acids, which can, if eaten daily in low amounts, lead to male infertility, lack of sexual appetite and testes tumors. Make sure you do not buy these and go for those which can be non-microwavably popped.

  • Mint

Known to be one of the most effective medicinal plants, it helps digestion and also has antiseptic qualities. However, it can severely harm your libido! So pick the toothbrush than popping mints!
