Vitamins are a food group necessary for normal growth, general well-being and vitality of the human body. Since these nutrients are required only in small quantity by human body, they can be obtained from the food we eat. Vitamins cannot be assimilated without ingesting food, so they should be taken with meals.

Importance of each vitamins: 

Vitamin A

This vitamin is vital for growth, formation and repair of body tissues. It protects mucous membrane of mouth, throat, lungs and nose, and is critical for healthy skin. It also features as the most important vitamin in preventing night blindness.

Vitamin B Complex and folic acid

Vitamin B Complex is group of vitamins called B1, B2, B6, B12 etc. They are essential for digestion of carbohydrates, normal functioning of the nervous system, heart and muscles. It stabilizes appetite, promotes growth and generates energy. Formation of red blood cells and antibodies, metabolism, cells respiration and skin, nail and hair health; all this is the job of vitamin B2.
Vitamin B6 essentially helps in synthesis and breakdown of amino acids, promotes healthy skin, antibody production and electrolyte balance. B12 basically helps in keeping normal hemoglobin levels, and it’s deficiency can lead to pernicious anaemia. It is also important for normal functioning of nervous system, bones, and muscles.
Folic acid is essential for the formation of red blood cells and DNA and RNA synthesis

Vitamin C

  1.     Helps heal wounds, scar tissue and fractures
  2.     Essential for healthy bones, teeth and gums
  3.     Builds resistance to infection
  4.     Prevents scurvy
  5.     Gives strength to blood vessels
  6.     Aids in absorption of iron
  7.     Is essential for the synthesis of collagen

Vitamin D

Most important vitamin for bone and teeth formation and development, absorption of phosphorus and calcium

Vitamin E

It plays a vital role in retarding cellular aging, alleviates fatigue, nourishes cells, and keeps skin healthy and young.
