Medicines can make you feel bad

It is easy to pop a pill and get rid of the pain. But, medicines used most often can be harmful to us in the long run. Here’s are the reasons why some remedies might be harmful.

  • Vital vitamins

    According to the studies, some vitamins could be bad for our health and worsen some diseases. Vitamin E in high doses and taken for long is said to increase the risk of heart failure and vitamin B3 can be problematic for diabetics as it can raise glucose levels. Vitamin A can lead to severe headaches when taken with certain antibiotics for stomach ulcers.

  • Headache pills

    Over-the-counter medicines taken commonly to relieve headaches can cause the blinding headaches in many. Overuse of these drugs can make the brain more sensitive to pain. Painkillers taken alternate day cause more harm. A vicious cycle of such drugs and headaches sets in.

  • Nicotine patches

    Nicotine patches contain nicotine. Studies show that nicotine is carcinogenic. It can even produce chemicals which can cause lung tumours. The risk is minimal and nicotine patches are prescribed as an effective way to kick the habit.

  • Sleeping pills

    Insufficient sleep makes us sick. Sleeping pills could increase the chances of premature death five times. A research from US claims that people taking the maximum dose have greater risk of contracting a major cancer. Risk of lung, colon and prostate cancer is greater in people taking sleeping pills than even smokers.

  • Hangover remedies

    Most of common ‘hangover drugs end up making us feel worse.
