Mistakes while losing weight

Losing weight is the foremost thing on almost everyone’s mind these days. Whether for health reasons or simply to look slim and feel sexy, all of us are trying to lose some extra pounds. So while you sweat it out in the gym, keep in mind these common mistakes that prevent you from effectively losing weight.

  1. Skipping Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gets your metabolism up and kicking. Not eating breakfast means having a sluggish metabolism all day through. If the food you eat isn’t metabolized well, it will just pile on and add to your weight.
  2. Diet Soda
Diet drinks are healthier alternatives to the sugary colas, but they do not help one lose weight. So if you are trying to lose weight, replacing your coke with diet coke at Pizza Hut wont alone help. You need to cut down on those pizzas and get your body moving at the gym too.
Drinking diet drinks as an excuse for good health won’t fool your body.
  3. ticking To A Fixed Exercise
Most people think that aerobics are the best way to lose weight as they burn more calories. While it isn’t incorrect, you should also keep in mind that your body needs other forms of exercises like weight and strength training too. Also, repeating the same set of exercises is not advisable. The muscles get used to the exercise pattern and do not show response after a while. So keep switching.
  4. Working Out Alone
You may feel that working out alone is good as it will help you concentrate on your exercises and not indulge in treadmill gossip, but the fact is that having a workout buddy is very helpful. People who are part of a group work better and lose weight quickly.
  5. Not Eating Before Exercising
Your body needs the energy to love up to the rigorous exercising you subject it to. Not having anything to eat before hitting the gym will only tire your body out quickly.
  6. Exercising Smartly
Several people prefer using light weights during weight training. However, the truth is, using heavier weights with lesser repetitions is more effective than several repetitions with a smaller weight.
  7. Scale Woes
Worrying about weight loss and anxiety over what the scales will reveal leads to the release of stress hormones like cortisol. This only adds to the weigh. Relaxing and de-stressing are important steps to weight loss.

Losing weight can be easier if you do it the right way.
