Read on to know how you can escape shoe bites.
- Shoe bites occur due to tight-fitting shoes. So, while buying new shoes, always make it a point to wear both the shoes of the pair, and walk around the shop. Walking around in this way, will help you to understand just how well the shoes fit.
- Apply coconut oil generously on the areas of the shoe that tend to rub most against the skin of your feet. This will soften the material of the shoe and thereby, reduce the friction that causes the blisters. Baby oil performs the same trick, just as well!
- Apply cream or petroleum jelly on your feet, before you wear your new shoes. This will protect the skin of your feet from the rough texture of the shoes.
- Band aids are a great way to prevent shoe bites. Wear them on the areas, most prone to friction. You may also stick the band aids on the parts of the shoe that tend to bite.
- Potatoes work wonders when it comes to menacing shoe bites. Place potato slices inside the shoes and leave them overnight. Remove them while you wear your shoes.
What does one do when one is already suffering from shoe bites?
- A paste of Neem, or Azadirachta Indica leaves, mixed with a little bit of turmeric powder, can do the trick. Application of this paste, will heal the blister quickly and also reduce the pain that comes along with it.
- Once the blister has dried off, apply some honey on it. Honey will help the blister fade, without leaving behind a scar.
- For immediate relief, apply a paste of water and rice powder. This cools the burning, almost instantly and even speeds up the healing process and reduces the risk of scars.
- Aloe Vera creams and gels also work well in reducing the burning and swelling. Aloe Vera also clears the skin and wipes away the traces of scars.
Wearing new shoes and flaunting them should be a pleasurable experience! Do not let those evil shoe-bites, bite into the fun!
