It is a long muscle of the forearm which acts mainly on the index finger of the hand.

Origin

Ulna, interosseous membrane.

Insertion

Into the index finger.

Blood supply

Posterior interosseous artery.

Nerve supply

Posterior interosseous nerve.

Action

The main function of the extensor indicis muscle is to extend the index finger and also help in extending the wrist.
