PECTORALIS MINOR

The pectoralis minor is a chest muscle located below the pectoralis major.

Origin

3rd to 5th rib.

Insertion

Scapula – coracoid process.

Blood supply

Thoracoacromial artery, lateral thoracic artery, superior thoracic artery.

Nerve supply

Medial pectoral nerve, lateral pectoral nerve.

Action 

Its primary function is to shrug the shoulder forward.

Disease/Injury

A tight pectoralis minor can lead to pain in the neck and shoulder region and a bad posture.

Muscle Exercise

To strengthen the pectorals, push-ups, pec decks, bench press and chest dips are great exercises to perform.
