SUPERIOR GEMELLUS

Superior gemellus is a hip muscle present in the buttocks region.

Origin

Ischium – spine.

Insertion

Tendon of obturator internus.

Blood supply

Inferior gluteal artery.

Nerve supply

L5, S1, S2 nerves.

Action

It helps to rotate the femur bone of thigh outwards. It laterally rotates and provides stability to the hip.
