The groin is the part between the belly and thigh; it is the junction of both the sides of body.

Functions:

The groin muscles help to pull the thighs together. These muscles help to rotate the hip while running. It is essential for maintaining grip on the saddle.

Diseases:

Groin pain is the common disorder in footballers as they overload one leg more than other, like repeated kicking.  There may be loosening of ligaments which holds pubic bones.

Interesting Facts:

Groin region is mostly affected by the activities like swimming, skating, skating, ice hockey and soccer.
